What if I'm already registered for the boogster forum?

If you're already registered with the boogster forum, then just use your boogster forum username and password to login.

How much does it cost to join?

The NFL Challenge is absolutely free!  But remember, you can only sign up once.  If we catch anyone who signs up more than once, their accounts will be terminated and no prizes will be awarded to that player.

Can I sign up more than once?

Absolutely not. Only one signup per IP Address per household.

Can I join during the middle of the season?

Yes.  Your account balance will be $100 less than $1000 times the week number in which you started.  So, if you start in week 10, then you'll start with -$10,100 in play money.

Can I tell my friends about it?

Absolutely!  Anyone and everyone can join this challenge.

What is boogster.com's incentive for running this game for free?

We spend a lot of money in advertising.  This promotion is just another way for us to advertise.  So please tell your friends about it!

What is the minimum single wager?

Each bet must be at least $100.

How much of my $1000 must I wager every week?

The total of all wagers must be at least $100, except for the last three weeks of the season.  For the last seven weeks of the season, you must wager all $1000 of your play money.  This rule is put in place to prevent the players at the top from sitting on their winnings.

What happens if I only wager $100 of my $1000 in play money, do I get to keep the other $900 as winnings?

No, if you don't wager the full $1000 each week, that money will not go towards your winnings.  That money is lost.

What is a double and triple parlay?

A double parlay is when you make one wager on two separate games hoping for both of them to win.  You will win 2.64 dollars to every 1 dollar wagered, however, you have to win both games in order to win the bet.  A triple parlay is the same, except you have to win all three wagers and the payout is 5.96 dollars to every 1 dollar wagered.

What are the payouts for each of the different bets?

Single wager: Wager $1000, win $1000
Double parlay: Wager $1000, win $2640
Triple parlay: Wager $1000, win $5960

So, if I were to make a triple parlay bet of $1000 and win, how much would I get for the week?

You'd receive $5000 in play money as your total winnings for the week.

What if I wager $1000 and lose?

$1000 will be deducted from your total play money for the week.

When are the lines for each week posted?

The lines will be posted on Wednesday nights at 12:00 PM ET.  They will not change once posted.

What happens when a game is tied against-the-spread?

The game is thrown out.  You neither win nor lose that wager.  If you placed a parlay, then just act as though you never placed a wager on that one game.  So, if you made a triple parlay and one of those games ended as a tie, then that wager will be considered a double parlay.

When would be the latest that I can wager on a game?

Wagers are allowed up until 30 minutes prior to the start of the game.

How will I know where I rank in the competition?

Check the leaderboard.

If I win one of the weekly prizes or place in the top ten, how will I get paid?

We will pay you in boogster points.  Each 1000 boogster points is equivalent to $10.  You can spend the boogster points in the boogster store to get gift certificates, poker software, playing cards, books, ipods, etc.

What happens if there's a tie for the weekly winner?

We'll randomly draw a winner.

What happens if there's a tie for the overall winner?

The player with the best against-the-spread (ATS) record is the winner. If the players' ATS records are the same, then we'll go to the total amount of ATS wins, then ATS losses. If there is still a tie, then we'll put all players in a room and whoever comes out first, gets the Plasma. 

What if I forget to make my wager for the week?

$100 will be automatically deducted from your account. In the last seven weeks of the season, you automatically will lose $1000.

How come I can't view the pending wagers for week 16 and 17?

We disabled the listing of pending wagers for weeks 16-17 because it will prevent players from cheating.  The ability to view pending wagers are reenabled after the Monday night game.
